Cosmeceuticals refer not only to the cosmetic market, but more on the demand of the consumers for their self-preservation and rational consumption when the trend now is to gain more than beauty. Personal care products in the 21st century mostly focus on going "green", being "natural" and being "safe". With the back-to-nature trend on the robust side, natural active skin care ingredients, especially those being used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, have been developing rapidly. Based on Chinese ancient prescriptions, extracted and refined by modern method, the TCM are used to whiten the skin and for overall skin care. With new Cosmeceuticals now using thermal spring water and natural plant technology, such products have become fully accepted and fashionable.

The Cosmeceuticals Technology Summit is held annually and has attracted many R&D experts and professionals within the sector and in related industries.
