The Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TMTS), hosted by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builder's Association (TMBA), commences today (March 27th) at the Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX) in Taipei.

Established 16 years ago, TMBA has held the event biennially since 2010. Now in its eighth iteration, TMTS has transitioned from Taichung to Taipei, persisting as a vital communication platform for manufacturers and international buyers. This relocation aims to foster increased business opportunities and partnerships.

Featuring over 600 exhibitors and 3,350 booths, TMTS 2024 has garnered pre-registration from more than 3,000 foreign buyers representing 47 countries, expecting to draw over 55,000 visitors.

Under the theme "Dual Axis Intelligent Manufacturing and Sustainable Future," TMTS 2024 pioneers an eco-system-based exhibition space, aligning with dual axes of digital and green transformation. It aims to showcase diverse industrial applications through various exhibition themes.

The exhibition highlights five key elements of digital transformation: Smart Manufacturing, Data Analytics and Cloud Computing, AIoT, Digital Twin/Human-Machine Collaboration, and Blockchain Technology. Similarly, it focuses on five elements of green transformation: Smart Energy Conservation, Environmental Certification, Resource Recycling and Reuse, Green Supply Chain, and Sustainable Product Design. These elements underscore Taiwan's commitment to technological innovation and industry advancement.

This year's event boasts an unprecedented scale, featuring renowned domestic manufacturers and the active participation of 17 guilds and public associations. Additionally, top companies from Germany, Switzerland, and other nations enrich the exhibition, presenting the latest industry trends and technological developments.

Index exhibitors include leading names such as GOODWAY, HIWIN, YEONG CHIN, TAIWAN TAKISAWA, VICTOR TAICHUNG, TONGTAI, QUASER, TUNG PEI, FAIR FRIEND GROUP, BUFFALO, SIEMENS, HEIDENHAIN, FANUC, and IGUS.

In collaboration with the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW), TMBA introduces the "umati Zone" for the first time at TMTS, featuring 25 domestic manufacturers, corporations, and schools. This zone showcases over 50 machines simultaneously, illustrating innovative experiences and fostering cross-field intelligent ecosystems.

To address the green economy trend, TMBA launches TMTS 2024, promoting research and development in energy-saving equipment or components through the "Energy Saving Label for the Machine Tool Industry" evaluation. Notable achievements in green transformation will be exhibited at TMTS 2024.

The exhibition also hosts a series of forums with domestic and international industry experts, discussing topics like digital and green transformation, talent sustainability, and industry-academia collaboration.

The success of TMTS underscores Taiwan's prowess in technological innovation and cross-domain integrated ecosystem development. Looking forward, Taiwan's machine tool industry is poised to ascend further on the path of sustainable development, making significant contributions to the global machine tool industry.
