Azelis to open an office in Indonesia

New office will be headed by Antonius Utomo Prihantono
Azelis is a leading global speciality chemicals distributor and employs more than 1,500 knowledgeable people located in 80 locations across the EMEA, Asia Pacific and Americas regions. Azelis has over 30 laboratories and technical centers serving the following industries: Personal Care, Pharma, Food & Health, Animal Nutrition, Specialty Agri/Horti, Homecare & Industrial Cleaning, CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers), Chemicals, Lubricants & Metal Working Fluids and Rubber & Plastic Additives. 
 
The company announced today that it is expanding its presence in Asia Pacific with the opening of an office in Indonesia in 2017. Its new office will be led by Antonius Utomo Prihantono, who has been appointed Managing Director Indonesia with immediate effect.  
 
Prihantomo holds a Master's degree in Material Science and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. He joins Azelis after spending more than 20 years in the crop protection business in Indonesia, Singapore and Germany. Most recently, Prihantono worked as Regional Operation Head Asia Pacific, Crop Protection Division, for a world leading chemical company.

Based in Jakarta, Prihantono will be responsible for establishing an Azelis presence in Indonesia and build a team by the end of 2017. Initially Azelis will focus on speciality raw materials for the agrochemicals, homecare and personal care markets, and at a later stage, food and health ingredients.

Azelis entered the Asia Pacific market in 2012. This expansion and Prihantono’s appointment continues the company’s growth strategy in Asia Pacific. Azelis already has offices in Australia, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Vietham and Thailand. Continued investment in fully equipped laboratories, so far in China, Vietnam and Thailand, allows the company to meet requirements of its customers across a range of applications in the personal care, food, coatings and homecare markets.
