Diondo is launching a new, compact CT system, D1, a computed tomography system.

The system meets the stringent requirements of metrology and the high demands of non-destructive material testing with great precision.

Instead of the metal manipulator usually used in this market sector, the system rests on a solid granite base. The inherent stiffness and temperature stability is said to guarantee perfect results even after many years of intensive use. Furthermore, the axes are equipped with glass scales from the company Heidenhain, a feature that is otherwise only provided by CT systems in higher price brackets. An accuracy according to the VDI / VDE guideline 2630 is achieved with this system, Diondo notes.

Another feature is its high-contrast 3K detector. The combination of a narrow pixel grid and a large active area offers the user several advantages – high resolution when examining small objects whilst the imaging of large test pieces "in one shot" is also possible. The diameter of a test object can measure up to 300 mm, with a maximum height of 500 mm. The unit is approved for unit weights up to 20 kg. Thus, D1 is suited for both non-destructive testing on metal and composite components as well as for high-precision metrology on plastic. This makes D1 suitable in industrial production as well as for service providers, laboratories, R&D facilities and research institutes.
