A complete extrusion line for direct extrusion of highly filled PP pipe has gone into operation in Egypt. The KraussMaffei Berstorff line, complete with all downstream units, is now producing three-layer PP pipe for domestic waste at Hamza Industry Co., Cairo, Egyptian specialists in sanitary equipment. Direct extrusion, a combination of compounding and processing in one extruder, increases flexibility and cost- efficiency in production. Hamza Industries will from now on produce its own pipes by the costcompetitive direct extrusion method. The requisite technology has been supplied by Kraus sMaffei Berstorff.
