DEWA, Schneider share best practices in energy, automation

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received a delegation from Schneider Electric to build closer ties
The companies also exchange experiences and best practices in energy management and automation. The delegation included Frederic Abbal, Executive Vice President of Energy Business, Hanan Darwish, President of Schneider Electric for the Gulf and Pakistan, and Nadir Al-Zoubi, Energy Vice President for the Gulf Countries and Pakistan. The visit is one of the many visits made by international company heads to DEWA.
 
During the meeting, Al Tayer welcomed the Schneider Electric delegation and gave them a briefing on the major projects and initiatives that have been launched by DEWA. These support the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to diversify energy sources by the adoption of sustainable and green energy solutions to promote sustainable development. They also achieve the objectives set in the UAE Vision 2021, to transform the UAE into one of the best and most sustainable countries in the world and the Dubai Plan 2021, to transform Dubai into a smart, integrated, and sustainable city.
 
Al Tayer stressed that DEWA gives great importance to the promotion of effective partnerships between the public and private sectors, where they play an important role in opening new prospects to better learn from their innovation and excellent experiences, while also helping to create better services and applications that meet the highest international standards and make Dubai the happiest and smartest city in the world.
 
In response, the delegation presented their latest line of smart solutions, which relies on artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), open and big data, cloud systems, and smart grids.
