Asia Plastics Processing Technology and Innovative Materials Summit 2018 (Sep6-7) in Jakarta is packed with valuable insights from industry experts.
Indonesia is embarking on a road toward industrial development with the launch of “Making Indonesia 4.0,” a roadmap that aims to bring major innovations to enable the country to achieve the goals of Industry 4.0, the fourth industrial revolution in manufacturing and industry. The stage has been set for Indonesia to join this new industrial trend. As Industry 4.0 is supported by five technological advances: Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), human-machine interface, robot and sensor technology, and 3D printing, many industries in Indonesia are eager to adopt the latest technologies to enhance their business operations to be able to compete globally..

"Making Indonesia 4.0" identified several priority sectors that include food and drinks, automotive, electronics, and chemicals, among others. These sectors are being developed to put Indonesia among the global players for the production of these products. With the government now putting in place necessary incentives and infrastructure to drive growth in these sectors, many opportunities are now available for those who offer innovative technologies and materials in Indonesia’s industrial arena.

Next-generation technologies and materials solutions are expected to play a crucial role in the development of Indonesia’s leading sectors such as food and beverage packaging, automotive, electronics and even building/infrastructure. Demand for innovative design techniques, automation and sustainable production solutions alongside high-performance materials is on the rise as manufacturers prepare to upgrade their production processes.
