Energy Composites Corporation (ECC) has installed a large-bore, vertically-wound fiber reinforced plastic tank to a large North American manufacturer of chlorine and caustic soda . This 30- foot diameter by 43- foot high tank is the first in a series of 16 tanks that ECC is manufacturing and will deliver over the next several months in order to enable the transformation of manufacturing at a significant chlor-alkali plant to the environmentally ?friendly membrane cell process . ECC fabricated the over sized tank using a custom vertical winding apparatus that was de signed and manufactured by the company for its own use at less than 20% of the cost of a commercially - manufactured winder. The tank was ECC''s larges tin - plant vessel to date , and it s new in-house winder gives it the capability to re tool quickly in or dertode liver the rest of the oversized tanks required under this contract in advance of deadlines. The chlor - alkali tanks are being made using De rakane 4 1 1and Derakane 470 vinylesters. The use of the premium g r a d e De r a k a n e 411 is particularly important since the material contains a BPO/DMA double veil corrosion barrier that will in crease , sign if I cant l y, these rvice life of these tanks . By enabling one of it schlor - alkal I customers to move expeditiously to the membrane cell manufacturing paradigm, ECC is contributing to reducing the generation of hazardous wastes such as mercury or as best o sand reducing the amount of energy required to manufacture chlorine.Womens Running Shoes & Running Clothes
