“Vora Packaging has been a leader in providing sealing solutions with its technically advanced innovative products.” – Mr. Tushar Manekar, Manager, Vora Packaging Private Limited.
In 1990, Pankaj Vora, an engineer by profession, established Vora Packaging Private Limited. For more than three decades, Vora Packaging has been a leader in providing sealing solutions with its technically advanced innovative products. It now operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in an industrial zone located in the outskirts of Mumbai, India. Mr. Tushar Manekar, Manager at Vora Packaging, shares with International Plastics News for Asia (IRNA) the company’s operations and range of products.

IRNA: What are Vora Packaging’s well-known products?

Mr. Manekar: Vora Packaging offers a wide range of sealing solutions for packaging like Expanded Polyethylene Capseals and Induction Heat Seal Liners. We also carry the brand “VSEAL,” which is a well-recognised closure sealing solution aimed at the dairy, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, wine, alcohol, lubricants, agro-chemicals and various other industries.

Basically, polymer base cap seal liners are used for sealing the container without tamper proof evidence. Our Expanded Polyethylene Capseals are a group of liners used inside the metal and plastic ROPP caps. The wadded caps are then screwed onto the rim of the bottle jar.

Foil Induction Heat seals, on the other hand, are designed to be sealed onto the container mouth with induction sealing technology. Our Induction Heat Seal Liners can be supplied with wax bonded with various substrates of different thickness pulp board.

Aside from those mentioned, we also provide printed graphics for strategic communication. For instance, the aluminium foil sealed onto the container mouth becomes a focal point when a consumer opens the bottle. This is used as a perfect form of strategic labelling or communication.

IRNA: Who are you customers at the moment?

Mr. Manekar: Our main customers presently are engaged in all the industries like cosmetic industry, farming or agricultural industry, lube industry, household industry, plastic packaging sectors and many others who come to us in search of effective sealing solutions for their products.

IRNA: Do you export? Which are your key markets?

Mr. Manekar: Aside from the domestic market, Vora Packaging also exports to Europe and Iran, which we see as our major markets. However, we are keen on exploring other international markets for our products such as Southeast Asia and Saudi Arabia, and that is the primary reason why we join well-known exhibitions in India, such as PLASTINDIA.

IRNA: Please tell us about your production facility and its operations.

Mr. Manekar:  We have our production plant in India, located in Mumbai, Maharashtra with production capacity of 2 million seals per day.  Since we put a lot of emphasis on quality, we ensure that our production facility works efficiently and this is very much evident in the quality products that our customers get from us.

Our production plant utilises a combination of imported and Indian-made machinery and this has helped a lot in ensuring high-quality products. We have already set the machines standards which is based on the feedback of our production planning team which tests and operates the machines.  We also have a separate quality control team that checks every consignment.  IRNA
