Asia's largest food innovation exhibition will run from May 5 to 7 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre

SIAL China 2016 is set to showcase the latest and future trends in food and beverage products.

This year's edition, which is scheduled to run from May 5 through 7 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, will feature 21 product sectors and 10 specialized events. Festival meals will be one of the key product segments, but meat will remain as the show's most popular product category, with a huge variety of product displays taking up 25,000 square meters of exhibition space in halls E3 and E4.

The Dairy zone, organized in response to the growing demand for dairy products in the market will mark its inaugural run in hall W2. Hall W5 will be devoted to wines.

SIAL China 2016 will highlight a diverse selection of foods and beverages from different countries and regions. Product exhibits will include snacks from Taiwan, tropical fruits from Indonesia, olive oil from Tunisia, dairy products from Oceania, meat from Americas, among others.

The Korea and USA pavilions will both occupy more than 1,000 square meters of exhibition space. Exhibitors from Turkey, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Uruguay, Germany, Malaysia, Australia, Czech  Republic, Ireland, Morocco, Argentina, Finland, Canada, Portugal, and Costa Rica will also be able to showcase their latest and upcoming products.

Manufacturers and exporters from Dubai will join SIAL China for the first time in their own Dubai pavilion. Poland will be a Guest Country of Honor, with representatives showcasing Polish apple, pork, cheese, and other specialties and organic products.

Buyers looking to source China products will surely find what they are looking for from the five theme zones. Halls E3 and E4 will display Central Kitchen products for the catering industry, and halls E2 and E3 will feature Green Agriculture products. Sweets & Snacks will be the focus of halls W1, W2, W3, E1, and E2. High-end beverages will drive product exhibits in hall W4, while alcoholic products and related items will be displayed in hall W5. The Gansu provincial pavilion, which is the show's Guest Province of Honor, will feature wines, Halal  foods,  aquatic products and other organic foods from the province.

Service companies will maximize opportunities to present their capability at SIAL China 2016.  Companies such as Beijing CBTC and Shenzhen TSL International Trade Co. Ltd, which help in localizing global food innovations by integrating them in the supply chain, branding, and retail  channels, will participate in the three-day trade event. 

Concurrent events will add a new dimension to sourcing and product exhibits. Breakthroughs and innovations will take center stage once again at SIAL Innovation, which will underscore innovative products for the period 2014-2015. The Best Buy China Competition will focus on finding the best wine for the best value.

Meanwhile, La Cuisine, endorsed by the World Associations of Chef’s Society (WACS), will conduct live culinary competitions. There will be cooking demonstrations using fresh aquatic products at the Seafood Fest. Chefs will display their skills in chocolate sculpture at the Chocolate World, while tea brewers will compete for the best brew at the China National Specialty Tea Brewers Cup.

The Retail & Hospitality Forum will have presentations and discussion about the expanding the retail network, benefits of marketing campaigns, and food safety. The Master Classes and Wine Innovation Forum will serve as a platform for wine lovers to cultivate their taste for quality wines.
