ProPak Asia is “Thailand’s most important industrial exhibition for food, beverage and pharmaceuticals," says H.E Mr Pramode Vidtayasuk, Vice Minister for Industry

PROPAK ASIA 2015 opens with the biggest exhibitor population in the show’s 23 years. More than 1,600 exhibitors from 44 countries - 11% more than the 2014 edition - are showcasing the latest and future trends in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.

The four-day trade event has 14 international pavilions highlighting breakthroughs and new products from China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the UK, and the US. It has six industry zones, namely DrinkTechAsia, FoodTechAsia, Lab&TestAsia, PackagingMaterialsAsia, PharmaTechAsia, and PrintTechAsia.

CDK for one will introduce its new blister packaging machine, the Eco-Blister CFF-360E. Alliance Technology Co. offers the Speedy automatic tray sealer, the first from the company.

At the Heat & Control booth, the WeighBack™ is taking center stage. It is the cleaner alternative to weigh belts, said the company. A horizontal motion continuous weighing conveyor, it is designed for weigh-convey applications such as product delivery to seasoning applicators and inline weighing.

LoeschPack highlights the F-Series, the all-new horizontal high performance flow wrapping platform for packing confectionery, while Eagle Product Inspection launched several of its inspection systems at this event.

Revtech is displaying its newly upgraded machine for heat treatment of cereal products. It can perform most processes, including drying, pasteurizing, stabilizing, and toasting.

These and 4,500 other machines from across the world will be displayed across 45,000 square meters of exhibition space. To help buyers find and identify suppliers by industry, ProPak Asia is launching Onsite Show Guides for each industry zone this year. The guides will include color-coded floor plans and exhibitor lists.

The show, which opened today, is hailed by Thailand’s Vice-Minister for Industry H.E. Mr. Pramode Vidtayasuk as “the biggest and most important industrial product exhibition for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries in Thailand and Asia. It will run till June 20 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok.

The product exhibits will be complemented by numerous industry-related conferences and seminars such as the Food Innovation Asia Conference 2015, Food Innovation Contest 2015, Asia Food Beverage Thailand Conference, and Asia Drink Conference 2015.

The PharmaTech Seminar 2015, Thai Packaging Centre and TISTR Conference 2015, The Department of Industrial Promotion Seminar 2015, The FoSTAT-Nestle Bowl Quiz, The Thai Star and Asia Star Packaging Award 2014 will also be held alongside the show.

Justin Pau, general manager of ProPak Asia show organizer Bangkok Exhibition Services (BES) Ltd, noted the 12% increase in preregistration for this year’s show compared with last year’s 36,310 trade visitors from 65 countries.

“We also have more local and international groups preregistered than ever before, also up 15%, and with more than 300 preregistered groups, including groups from Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam,” Mr. Pau said.

In his speech during the show’s opening ceremonies, Mr. Vidtayasuk acknowledged the trade fair’s value in showcasing Thailand’s strength in agri-based manufacturing and globally accepted food and beverage products.

“This crucial event has helped develop and build our strong industry and global reputation. Thailand's economy is seeing a gradual recovery and can benefit from lower oil prices and the weakening baht. Our private sector has excellent knowledge and skills, high product quality and with the increase of advanced technology and innovation it can provide drive and growth for our nation’s economy. Many of these new technologies can be seen here at ProPak Asia, which can help stimulate economic activity and investment for both local and international companies. The Minister of Industry supports organizations related to manufacturing and product development and we are ready to give full support to all manufacturers, investors and businesspeople,” Mr Vidtayasuk stated.

Mr Pau said, “Thailand is the largest food exporter in Southeast Asia and leading in many areas of food and drink production. This drives demand for more and higher value processing and packaging and ProPak Asia supports industry by presenting the best and latest technology and services from across the world.”
