Hypertherm will participate in the upcoming edition of MTA Vietnam event and showcase its most popular industrial cutting equipment and solutions.
Hyptherm exhibits MTA Vietnam event
Featuring the Powermax series, the event showcase highlights the unparalleled versatility that Hypertherm offers to its users, with Powermax45 XP® as the headliner. Through daily live-cutting demonstrations, visitors can experience the wide range of applications the Powermax systems offer and discover the numerous possibilities with Hypertherm’s advanced cutting solutions.

Powermax45 XP® is one of Hyperthem’s best-selling Powermax® portable plasma systems and it offers the most power and versatility in its class. Delivering 6.5 kilowatts of output power — which is 70 percent more than many
competitive systems — the system is extra powerful, allowing it to cleanly cut metals up to 16 mm (5/8") in thickness and to sever material nearly twice that thickness.

A new low-amp process makes it easy to mark, score, and make precision gouges, while the lighter design makes it more portable. The versatility is further enhanced by the availability of 11 different torch styles for handheld and mechanized use, plus a variety of consumable types for specialized cutting and gouging applications.

The system comes equipped with many Hypertherm-only technological innovations, including an all new Duramax™ Lock torch that is equipped with a torch disable switch for quick replacement of consumables, a FastConnect™ torch to quickly switch between different torches, and Smart Sense™ technology that automatically adjusts gas pressure and flow for optimal performance.

Flush Cutting
Close cutting applications (e.g. lug and attachment removal) are typically done using oxyfuel, carbon arc gouging, or traditional plasma cutting tools such as reciprocating saws and angle grinders. The new Powermax® flush cutting process now offers a more efficient process for these operations.

The patented FlushCut™ consumables allow Powermax® users to cut as close to the base as
possible without piercing or damaging the workpiece. These FlushCut™ consumables feature an angled nozzle bore that delivers the plasma arc at a 45-degree angle. Instead of locating the nozzle opening at the tip as is typically done, the FlushCut™ nozzle orifice is located on the side. This essentially bends the plasma arc, causing it to exit the torch at an angle nearly parallel to the workpiece. As a result, Powermax® users can cut closer to the base metal than ever before. This in turn dramatically reduces the amount of material left behind and significantly reduces grinding time.

Marking
Marking is routinely used by fabricators and manufacturers to etch numbers or letters onto a part, indicate the position of a hole, highlight a weld location, and more.
Hypertherm’s Powermax45® XP plasma system includes a function that allows users to make
temporary or permanent marks on metal surfaces such as mild steel, stainless steel, or
aluminum. Compared to powder and ink marking devices, Hypertherm’s systems can effectively mark both wet and oily plates, and also overcome challenges that manufacturers face with other methods of marking.

Track Cutting & Gouging
Track cutting and gouging is used to make long, straight cuts or gouges that are difficult and time-consuming to do by hand, given the precision required. Track cutting is sometimes used on a job site when the material to be cut or gouged is not suited for an X-Y table. The plasma gouging process removes any amount of material from a workpiece without actually severing or piercing the material.

Hypertherm offers different gouging consumable options with Powermax® systems, based on
desired gouging results and operator preferences.

Daily Live-Cutting Demonstrations
Apart from the Powermax® plasma systems on display at the Hypertherm booth, visitors
will also have the opportunity to witness the capabilities and superb cut quality of these plasma systems in action.
