Indonesia steps up eco-friendly production to meet international standards

  At Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2016, key representatives from the country's plastics industry stress the value of environment-friendly solutions in order for Indonesia to compete globally.    

 

Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2016 opens its doors on November 16 at the Jakarta International Expo Centre. The 29th edition of Indonesia's main plastics event has been hailed as one of Southeast Asia's premier exhibitions focusing on plastics & rubber machinery, processing technologies and raw materials. The event incorporates dedicated concurrent exhibitions - DrinkTech Indonesia, PlasPak Indonesia and Mould & DIe Indonesia.
 
The whole exhibition occupies 7 halls of the center, covering 21,500 sqm of exhibition space. Around 600 companies from 28 countries are showcasing their products, while international pavilions from China, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Switzerland and Taiwan are actively demonstrating their latest technologies.  The participation from leading technology and solution providers clearly endorses the potentials and strengths of Indonesia, according to Ms. Wiwiek Roberto, Project Director of PT Pemerindo Indonesia. 
 
The TAMI group pavilion at this year's edition converges more than 32 companies presenting a diverse range of processing technologies - from injection molding to extrusion lines, pre-processing and post-processing equipment to auxiliary equipment and compounds. 
 
The Italian pavilion features globally-recognized brands such as Amut, Bausano & Figli, Moretto, Tecnova and more. Other international groups include leading plastics technology providers and distributors such as Aoki, Arburg, Bilplast, Grapindo, Bosch Sprang, Buss, Catur Putra Makmur, Marubeni, Kiefel, Krones, Victor Taichung, Woojin Plaimm and many more. 
 
Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2016
 
Highlights of the 29th edition include the series of technical serminars and conferences. The Association of Indonesia Bottled Water Comapny (Aspadin) is organizing a conference on November 17 on the application of Halal certificate and the Indonesian Standardization Agency to protect consumers and gain competitive advantage in the bottled water industry. As Mr. Rachmat Hidayat, Chairman of Aspadin explained, Indonesia is a fast-growing market for packaging and domestic companies are being encouraged to implement production processes that meet international standards to become globally competitive.   
 
The Indonesian Packaging Federation (IPF) is also focusing on safe and enviroment-friendly plastics packaging. To educate local companies, IPF is holding a conference on November 16 on food packaging polysterent foam.    
 
Another highlight of DrinkTech Indonesia 2016 is the innovation spotlight content theater featuring 19 innovation presentations on beverage technology from November 16 - 18.
