Our target of expanding our market runs side by side with our own initiative to take R&D to higher level by improving the Matsui Engineering Team. 桵r. Kenjiro Matsushita

The learning process for most companies more often starts with their face-to-face encounter with the people who inquire on their products. Such close interaction bears multiple results, but past experiences point to major breakthroughs being the outcome of a seemingly impossible request from a customer. Mr. Kenjiro Matsushita, Managing Director of Matsui (Asia) Co. Ltd. explained to International Plastics News for Asia (IRNA) the company?s success in Southeast Asia and its ongoing efforts to collect information on what their customers view as the perfect plastics processing machinery. IRNA: From a manufacturer of medical, physical and chemical instruments, how did Matsui moved into production of plastics processing equipment? Matsushita: Matsui was established in 1912 as a manufacturer of medical, physical and chemical instrument. From 1961 to 1965, Matsui diversified into plastic processing equipment seeing the tremendous prospects for such products which we can match with our high production standards. Thus, we became the first Japanese manufacturer to develop a full-line FA system for plastics processing. In 1986, Matsui (Asia) Co., Ltd. was established in Bangkok as a maker of general engineering products and equipment. In cooperation with Matsui Manufacturing Co., Ltd, Matsui (Asia) became involved in the plastics molding industry and has since expanded its product line to include plastics handling and auxiliary products and systems. Matsui (Asia) Co., Ltd. mainly works with Japanese clients, but also with companies from other countries and local Thai companies. Our Thailand plant is now located in Bangpoo Industrial Estate, Samutprakarn Province and has 112 staff involved in engineering design, production, quality control and support services to meet our customers' needs and inquiries on plastics molding's handling system, auxiliary equipment and made-to-order machine and services. IRNA: What is the important role played by your manufacturing facility in Thailand to your overall operations? How does this role fit in your goal to meet your customer's requirements? Matsushita: Our facility in Thailand currently turns out some of our bestselling equipment. Our products are known for their compact structure, cost-efficiency with energy saving and low maintenance features, reliability and safety, as well as being environment-friendly. In particular, the Thailand factory offers engineering development services based on customer' s demand. Thus, machines can be made-to-order and installed according to our customer's requirements. The made-to-order products and accessories, when installed, provide a labor-saving system in a plastic molding shop. These made-to-order systems are on top of our standard machines and services that we provide our customers. To date, our product range include auxiliary equipment for injection molding machine/extruder, material handling system, material storage silo tank, measuring and mixer system, dehumidifying dryer, hopper dryer, mold temperature controller, chiller, annealing oven, auto mold exchanger, sprue runner pick-up robot, centralized feeding system, water cooling systems, among others. IRNA: How do you maintain such high standards for your products and services? Matsushita: Matsui's "plas-aid" has become a "Global Brand" with the implementation of a new 21st century management policy called "in search of rapport." This policy is founded on the basis of "trust, reward and gladness" a mutually-shared principle and way of thinking among the global network of producnike sb
