InterPlas Thailand returned as a concurrent event of the Manufacturing Expo 2017. As Thailand’s premier exhibition for the plastics, rubber and petrochemical industries, InterPlas Thailand offered a wider scope true to its promise of presenting the most advance technologies and information to boost the operations of the region’s leading industrial players.
The mega event, Manufacturing Expo 2017, provided a comprehensive technology and solutions for manufacturing including molds and dies, plastics, automotive, automation, electronics, coating and other fast-growing sectors. This year, Manufacturing Expo brought 2,452 brands from 46 countries of which more than 50% came from Japan. Visitor registration reached 79,904 of which more than 5,000 came from outside Thailand.
InterPlas Thailand alone featured over 350 brands from 20 countries, serving automotive, electronics & electrical, packaging, bioplastics and medical equipment industries. The exhibition highlighted five newly promoted industries by the Thai government, industries that are considered to be the future of Thai and global industrial sector as they have already attracted many global companies who have shown interest to invest in Thailand as a manufacturing base. These promoted industries include: Industrial Robotics for replacing manual workers; Aviation and Logistics in line with the expansion of U-tapao airport; Biofuels and Biochemicals; Digital Industry; Medical Industry to form the medical hub.
Other exhibition highlights included the “Robots: from Space Elevator Project” brought by Japan Space Elevator Association (JSEA) which demonstrated robots that can defy gravity from Earth to Space. This highlight was shown for the first time in ASEAN.
The 3D Technology Zone showed 3D printing potentials while the Smart 4.0 Zone demonstrated machinery controlled for production through PLC process or the Internet of Things. Another highlight was the Plastic Innovation Showcase where plastic innovations and samples of futuristic plastic applications are shown. M Fair Business Matching was launched as a matching platform for Japanese SMEs with ASEAN subcontractors.
Several seminars also took place during the exhibition, among them, the “Breakthrough Technologies and Materials for Sustainable Plastics Processing,” held on June 22, 2017 hosted by Ringier Trade Media Ltd which aimed to provide the latest information on innovative plastics processing technologies.
