The participation of Kautex Maschinenbau at the recently concluded Plastics & Rubber Asia exhibition in Jakarta is a reflection of its confidence in the Southeast Asian market, where demand for packaging products continuously expands. As a result, many suppliers of advanced machinery are optimistic of this huge regional market of more than 600 million people.
Kautex Maschinenbau was represented at the exhibition by its Product Manager for KLS-BD Consumer Packaging, Dietmar Michels, and Chief Representative for South East Asia, Louis Koay. “Indonesia is an important market for us, along with other growing markets in Southeast Asia, so for this market, we promote our all-electric models which are ideal for the Indonesian packaging industry,” according to Mr. Michels.

One of the models promoted is the KBB blow moulding machine, a high-performance machine available as versions for the production of bottles or stackable jerry cans. This model is a new standard in consumer packaging, not just in terms of economy but also in terms of operating convenience. The pioneering machine concept focuses on the decisive requirements of the market, in accordance with major themes of creativity, efficiency and benchmarks.
Mr. Koay added that the Indonesian representative office serves customers in the country and other nearby countries. Based in Malaysia, Mr. Koay heads the eighth overseas branch office of Kautex Maschinenbau. The Malaysia branch opened in October this year and it supports the growing requirements of the ASEAN region's consumer and industrial packaging, as well as the automotive market. As Mr. Koay explained: "Customers in Southeast Asia is growing steadily so proximity is an important factor to be able to respond to our customers' needs."
