Foam Oxidative Hair Color (US Patent No. 8,758,452 B2) – This Procter & Gamble Company (Cincinnati, Ohio) patent for an oxidative hair colorant composition is comprised of a hair dye; an alkalizing agent; an oxidizing agent selected from the group consisting of hydrogen peroxide, percarbonates, perphosphates and mixtures thereof; and a foam stabilizing agent selected from the group consisting of polymeric emulsifiers, polymeric foam stabilizers and mixtures thereof. The oxidative hair colorant composition comprises a low shear viscosity above 500 mPa•s. The high shear viscosity of the oxidative hair colorant composition is less than 200 mPa•s.

Hair Dye Treatment (US Patent No. 8,758,453 B2) – Kao Germany GmbH (Darmstadt) has patented a process for treating hair in which hair is dyed with a composition comprising one or more hair dyes and at least one oxidizing agent. The composition is obtained by mixing two compositions prior to application onto hair. Composition A comprises one or more hair dyes and a second composition B comprises at least one oxidizing agent. In a further step, hair is treated with a third composition C comprising at least one surfactant other than amino acid surfactant. At least two of the compositions A, B and C comprise at least one amino acid surfactant and composition C is substantially free of sulphate surfactant.

Rose Fragrance Composition (US Patent No. 8,791,059 B2) – Shiseido Company (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) and Takasago International have patented a rose fragrance composition. It is comprised of base fragrance composition with a rose aroma and methyl epijasmonate, provided that a natural jasmine fragrance containing methyl epijasmonate as the only source of methyl epijasmonate is excluded, wherein the methyl epijasmonate is contained in the rose fragrance composition in a concentration of 0.2ppm to 200ppm.

Hair Lightener Uses Direct Emulsion (US Patent No. 8,758,450 B2) – L'Oreal (Paris) has patented a method for the lightening and/or lightening dyeing of keratin materials, comprising treating said keratin fibers with: at least one direct emulsion (A) comprising at least one fatty substance free of carboxylic acid groups, at least one surfactant, water and at least one oxidizing agent; and at least one direct emulsion (B) comprising at least one fatty substance free of carboxylic acid groups, at least one surfactant, water and at least one alkaline agent. The concentration of the fatty substances free of carboxylic acid groups is equal to about 25% by weight or more of the total weight of the composition obtained after mixing direct emulsions (A) and (B).

Oxidation Hair Dye (US Patent No. 8,657,888 B2) – Shiseido Company has patented a hair dye composition consisting of a first formulation containing an oxidation dye and a second formulation containing an oxidation agent, which is the composition of two formulations that are mixed before use. The first formulation and/or the second formulation contains acetylated hyaluronic acid or salts thereof and the pH of a mixture of the first formulation and the second formulation in the same weight is 8 to 9.
Hair Cosmetic with Absorbent Mixture (US Patent No. 8,642,024 B2) – L'Oréal has patented an anhydrous cosmetic composition comprising at least one organic structuring agent, at least one modified starch, at least one wood meal, at least one surfactant, and at least one anhydrous liquid phase.

Hair Conditioner with Dried Yogurt (US Patent No. 8,642,021 B2) – Kao Germany GmbH has patented a conditioning composition for hair, comprising spray dried yogurt powder and at least one cationic polymer selected from a polyquaternium cationic compound or guar hydroxypropyl trimonium chloride.

Structured Depilatory Composition (US Patent No. 8,623,344 B2) – McNeil-PPC, Inc. (Skillman, New Jersey) has patented a composition comprising a depilatory active selected from the group consisting of thioglycolates; alkyl olefin sulfonate anionic surfactant; optionally, a second anionic surfactant which may be branched or unbranched and is selected from the group consisting of alkyl sulfates, alkyl ether sulfates, alkyl monoglyceryl ether sulfates, alkyl sulfonates, alkylaryl sulfonates, alkyl sulfosuccinates, alkyl ether sulfosuccinates, alkyl sulfosuccinamates, alkyl amidosulfosuccinates, alkyl carboxylates, alkyl amidoethercarboxylates, alkyl succinates, fatty acyl sarcosinates, fatty acyl amino acids, fatty acyl taurates, fatty alkyl sulfoacetates, alkyl phosphates, and mixtures thereof; and a structuring aid selected from the group consisting of C11-C15 linear or branched fatty acids or fatty alcohols.

Eyelash Treatment with Jasmonic Acid Derivative (US Patent No. 8,679,513 B2) – L'Oreal has patented a cosmetic process for inducing and/or stimulating growth of the eyelashes and/or halting their loss and/or increasing their density. It entails applying on the eyelashes and/or eyelids a mascara composition comprising in a physiologically acceptable medium, an amount effective for inducing and/or stimulating growth of the eyelashes and/or halting their loss and/ or increasing their density of at least one jasmonic acid derivative.
