Manufacturing Expo 2018, which includes InterPlas Thailand, brings the latest machinery and technologies for ASEAN companies to achieve Industry 4.0 goals.
ASEAN’S leading technologies and machinery exhibition for manufacturing and supporting industries, Manufacturing Expo 2018 with concurrent events - Inteplas Thailand 2018, NEPCON Thailand 2018 and Automotive Summit – officially opens on June 20 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand. 
 
This mega exhibition brings the latest machinery and technologies targeting ASEAN manufacturers – from large, medium and small enterprises – to enable them to improve their manufacturing capability, increase value to their products while at the same time reduce production costs. It covers a wide range of manufacturing and supporting industries including plastics, moulds and dies, automotive, automation technology, electronics, surface and coating industries. 
 
InterPlas Thailand 2018
 
The opening ceremony had the presence of Dr. Somchai Harnhirun, Deputy Minister of Industry as special guest. Mr. Isara Bumintramart, Managing Director, Reed Tradex Co., Ltd said that the exhibition is an important mechanism that allows manufacturers from diverse industries to gain access to technologies and innovations at the show, while exhibitors are given abundant opportunities to offer promotions and more information about their products. 
 
In particular, the Automotive Summit 2018 features the topic “Driving towards Automotive Industry 4.0” to support Thailand’s automotive manufacturers in their transformation towards Industry 4.0 by adapting robots and automation technology to improve their capabilities and competitive-edge on par with global standards. 
 
The exhibition features pavilions from such countries/regions like China, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan among others. One key activity is the Robotics Cluster Pavilion, co-organised by the Office of the Industrial Economics (OIE), Ministry of Industry along with leading organisations. The objective is to drive Thailand 4.0 policy by supporting SMEs to improve their production line through industrial robots and robotic systems through knowledge, government supports, schemes and workshops that are integrated into this special zone. 
 
InterPlas Thailand
 
Manufacturing Expo 2018 has more than 500 companies participating which represent 2,400 brands from 46 countries. The show consists of 6 international events including InterPlas Thailand for plastic parts manufacturing and packaging, InterMold Thailand for mould and die industries, Automotive Manufacturing Technology for manufacture of automotive parts, Assembly and Automation Technology, for automatic production lines and systems, Surface and Coatings, technology to prepare product surface for coating and paint, Robot X @ME, the most comprehensive event on manufacturing robots in ASEAN.  Manufacturing Expo is co-located with NEPCON  Thailand, ASEAN’s leading exhibition on electronics manufacturing, and Mfair Bangkok, a business matching platform for manufacturer’s network in Asia. This year, the show covers 46,000 sq.m. and expects to register 85,000 visitors.
