T-PLAS is the only specialised exhibition dedicated to plastics and rubber manufacturing in the ASEAN region.

Thailand’s International Trade Fair for the Plastics and Rubber Industries, or T-PLAS, takes place from 18 – 21 September 2019, at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC). This exhibition will showcase the entire supply chain from raw materials to machineries and equipment, to semi-finished and finished products and services for the plastics and rubber industries. This specialised exhibition is expected to gather over 200 exhibitors and an estimated 8,200 visitors from ASEAN countries and all over the world.

Riding on the success of its previous edition, T-PLAS 2019 will once again develop its six core plastics-related areas of focus: automotive, bioplastics, electrical and electronics, lifestyle, medical and packaging, bringing together international professionals and representatives from the plastics and rubber ecosystem to share information on the latest technologies and materials. This edition will also see two inaugural special showcases: Medical Plastics Zone and Chemical Plastics Zone.

Formerly known as TIPREX when launched in 2006, the trade fair has been rebranded to T-PLAS to signify its relevance to the robust growth and developments in the plastics sector, enhance the regional focus and international outlook of the event, and to highlight a unified business platform. T-PLAS 2019 is also the region’s dedicated platform to tap into the vibrant marketplace of Thailand. Driven by demand in the vigorous domestic economy, it continues to strengthen its role as a leading global hub of plastics manufacturing with a greater emphasis placed on value-added and technologically advanced products.

New zones and other highlights
Making its debut at T-PLAS 2019 is the Medical Plastics Zone, a dedicated platform to showcase a range of innovative components, processing machineries and products and equipment catered to the medical industry. With the global medical plastics market expected to reach a value of US$33.6 billion by 2025, specialty plastics continue to be one of the few versatile materials that can be adapted along with the dynamic nature of the industry. To highlight the significant role of plastics in revolutionising the healthcare industry, the Medical Plastics Zone will showcase a range of innovative components, processing machineries and products and equipment catered to the raw materials industry. This specialty zone will also feature a dedicated Raw Materials Zone.

A series of on-site activities including educational workshops, seminars, new product demonstrations and expert-led conferences that aims to present and discuss modern-day challenges and solutions for future-proofing processes for the plastics and rubber industries in the region.

The 2nd Singaporean-German Symposium on Medical Plastics Engineering will take place concurrently with T-PLAS 2019 on 19 September. Jointly organised by The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Messe Düsseldorf Asia, the one-day conference will gather international experts and specialists from the industry and academia to share findings and updates on R&D projects and innovations in medical plastics. Topics include antimicrobial plastics, plastics for medical devices, additive plastics engineering and recycling. Held on 20 September, this regional conference will gather industry experts and specialists to share their knowledge on topics centred on agriculture, automotive, electrical & electronics application sectors and trends on bioplastics, green initiatives and smart manufacturing for the specialty plastics industry.

Organised by key associations such as Thai Tool & Die Industry Association (TDIA), Thai Composite Association (TCA), Thai-German Institute (TGI), Plastics Institute of Thailand (PITH), Rubber Technology Research Centre (RTEC, Mahidol University), and leading industry players such as ARBURG, FIMIC SRL, Reifenhäuser and more, these concurrent events will aim to present and discuss modern-day challenges and solutions for future-proofing processes for the plastics and rubber industries in Thailand and the region.

T-PLAS is organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, and considered the highly anticipated biennial exhibition that provides a mutually beneficial platform for both exhibitors and visitors to share best practices and shape partnerships that aim to inspire cross-border expansion, establish their corporate presence, discover business prospects to expand into Thailand, or for local companies to step into the global arena.  To more information, visit: www.tplas.com or contact Tel: +65 6332 9620, Fax: +65 6337 4633, E-mail:   tplas@mda.com.sg.
