Milacron makes $5 million investment in DME plant expansion

Milacron Holdings Corp. Is expanding the Greenville, MI manufacturing facility of  its subsidiary, DME Company. The expansion entails an investment of about $5 million and is expected to create up to 70 full-time jobs in Michigan. This achievement was made possible in partnership with The Right Place, Inc. and Montcalm Economic Alliance, in collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the City of Greenville.

This expansion and investment announcement followed a recent decision of Milacron to close a DME facility in Youngwood, PA. Milacron plans to consolidate operations of its mold technology manufacturing and fabrication to its Greenville, MI location. In addition to the consolidation, Milacron plans to make significant investments to expand the capabilities of its Greenville location.

Economic development resources at the Montcalm Economic Alliance first began working with the company when executives from Milacron indicated they were evaluating the consolidation of two locations. At the time, the company considered both Greenville and Youngwood facilities as potential sites for the consolidation. 

The MEDC is supporting the new development with the approval of a $490,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. In addition, the City of Greenville is considering the approval of a PA 198 local tax abatement in support of the project.

Milacron continues to push the boundaries of possibilities in plastics with breakthrough products from leading brands including Milacron, Mold-Masters, DME, Ferromatik, Uniloy and CIMCOOL.
