The 4th edition of MTA Vietnam launched in Hanoi for the first time this year saw nearly 6,000 local and overseas visitors from all over the world. This is a testament to the internationality of the exhibition, having created opportunities for exhibitors and visitors to network and exchange ideas, forge business links and capitalize on promising trade opportunities. The show attracted a diverse range of visitors, including professionals from Vietnam誷 automotive manufacturing, electrical and electronics manufacturing, engineering and contracting, shipbuilding and repair sectors. Exhibitors at the event were happy with the quality of trade buyers that visited the exhibition. Buyers who visited the exhibition were also pleased with the comprehensive range of international products and services showcased at the exhibition. " The range of international exhibitors brought together at the show has helped me understand the overseas markets better. I am happy to find what I need here during my visit," said Mr. Tran Viet Phan, Chairman-Director, Hanoi Construction Corp., Vietnam. " This exhibition offers a wide range of products. The arrangement of the products by categories also makes it easier for me to find what I need," said Mr. Phung The Viet, Manager, R&D Department, Vietnam Electronics and Refrigeration Technology Corp, Vietnam. Exhibitors who participated during the show shared their thoughts about Vietnam's growing industry zone. Here are excerpts from the interview conducted by International Metalworking News for Asia. FARO Singapore Pte Ltd "For Vietnam the end user sector that provides the maximum business for our products is the automotive sector that's why we decided to come to Hanoi," stated Senior Account Manager Terrence Lim. "Last year, we were in Ho Chi Minh. We have an office there. Our business is growing in this region having Yamaha here." Lim added, "The market in Vietnam is growing and is developing over time. The people誷 level of expertise requirement is going up. People now are looking at more computer-aided machines. So it is a good sign, and definitely if you want to go into an industry that simplifies, this is the right place to go and upgrade your market product." When asked if manufacturers here in Vietnam go for low cost, Lim explained "With the investment coming in, Toyota and Yamaha, investments are definitely going strong. So when investments go up, more money comes in?sufficient to spend for quality equipment." Lim said Vietnam has they're own local market. "The domestic requirement is also there. More cars are on the road now, and there are a lot of motorbikes. I think for Yamaha, Vietnam is a big business market. The people are getting richer as well." Faro is a U.S. company but has established a production plant in Singapore. "Faro is very strong in South East Asia. In Singapore, we manufacture all the machines that we have here in the show. We service and calibrate them. We increase the speed of delivery. If you give me the order I can ship it in the afternoon. A lot of companies rely on their parent company. This requires longer delivery time, longer service time. Right now, we have our own people in Singapore. We also have an office here in Vietnam, who actually provides first-hand service. Faro Singapore provides the turnaround factor."
