Nepal hospital installs telemedicine system

BAYALPATA Hospital in western Nepal is establishing a connection that will allow physicians at Grande Hospital in Kathmandu to view images and provide remote consultations for its trauma patients. A Rotary Foundation grant allowed the hospital installed a Vita CR system with Image Suite software from Carestream.

 

 

The high-quality, small-footprint Vita CR Systems are designed for clinics, practices and hospitals that need compact digital solutions at an affordable price. Image Suite Software features an easy-to-use, touch-friendly interface, an enhanced set of tools and streamlined workflow. A mini-PACS module improves image management and allows for remote consultations.

 

The system allows X-ray images to be digitized and viewed throughout the hospital as well as be exported from the CR system for review by remote physicians and orthopaedic specialists. The goal is to enable timely and efficient care for a variety of diseases and conditions.
