GUANGZHOU, China -- DuPont Titanium Technologies unveiled its customized solutions for downgauging flexible films, Ti-Pure DownGaugeTM, at Chinaplas 2015. Introduced for the first time woldwide, Ti-Pure DownGaugeTM comprises customized solutions that enables thinner flexible pigmented films.
Development of the new TiO2 solution is in response to the growing direction toward sustainable performance and operations across many industries. "Brand-owners are looking for ways to improve their sustainability and packaging footprint," noted Guclu Turkoglu, Global Market Segment Manager - Plastics, Titanium Technologies.
While downgauging is one option, Mr. Turkoglu said this is often at the expense of film performance. In response Titanium Technologies is propeling its wide experience in TiO2 across the value chain, including masterbatch suppliers, to provide solutions that will achieve thinner flexible films that meet packaging standards for safety, sustainability and marketability. The systems solution combines TiO2 knowledge, capabilities, product performance and insights from key influencers in the value chain to co-create the whitest, brightest films for eye-catching beauty, and superior film opacity, printability and light protection.
"Ti-Pure DownGauge is all about working with the plastics value chain to co-create innovative TiO2-based solutions for thinner film performance with improved productivity," Mr. Turkoglu explained.
Brand-owners also need to deal with the growing number of discerning and demanding consumers who are influenced by a package's looks at point of sale. Down the road, the new TiO2 systems solution will likely help companies increase their edge through more attractive as well as sustainable packaging. "Ti-Pure DownGauge will offer a platform to enable consumer goods companies to achieve their goals," said Mr. Turkoglu.
