With its plastics auxiliary equipment sales doubling every year, the Conair joint-venture company in India, Nu-Vu Conair Pvt. Ltd., has started construction on a new, stand-alone manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, India. "Our business in India has been very successful since we formed the joint venture less than three years ago," says Mr. Larry Doyle, Conair Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing. "Domestic consumption in India has been fuelling very robust growth in India, despite the global economic slump that recently has affected most of the rest of the world. All market segments have contributed, but packaging has played the most significant role." Located on a 1.5-acre (6100-sq.m.) site in a new industrial park not far from the firm's current facility in Ahmedabad, the new facility will be twice as big. The building has been designed by Conair with auxiliary equipment assembly in mind, so workflow efficiency will be much improved compared to the existing site. Nu-Vu Conair is a 50/50 partnership with a group of Indian entrepreneurs experienced in the plastics equipment manufacturing. The JV is managed locally by Bhaumik V. Patel, K.M. Shah, Ajay Shah, and S.P. Kudva and will continue to operate out of the existing Nu-Vu Conair facility until the new plant opens next year. www.conair.comNike Hyperdunk 2017
