DATA from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) show positive growth in the country’s leading export products including coconut oil, mango, fresh bananas, and tuna.
The PSA data reveals an 18.3% increase in the value of coconut oil shipments in January 2018. The country’s top farm export reached USD143 million, according a report in Business Mirror.
Shipments of fresh bananas were valued at 61.2%, amounting to USD70.52 million, while those for mangoes totaled USD2.04 million, or more than twice higher than 2017 figures.
Tuna which is exported fresh, frozen, and prepared or preserved in airtight containers were valued at USD35.94 million in January 2018. This reflects a 30.1% increase over the previous year.
