At the invitation of the Collector of Bhandara Shri Suhas Diwase IAS to Shri Atul Kanuga, Chairman Environment Committee Plastindia Foundation , Dr Sameer Joshi, represented Plastindia Foundation at Bhandara June 8-9, 2017 where a presentation was made to all the COs of the Municipal Council (Parishad) Muncipal Panchayat and Chairman of Council. Bhandara has 33 wards and its neighboring town Pauni there are 13 wards.
After the presentation a site visit was conducted where Plastindia Foundation team suggested methods for collection and segregation of waste, baling, compacting, etc. Politicians as well as administration were keen to work diligently for waste management. The PIF Team gave them suggestions and to first do a survey of waste, then separate dry waste further into glass, paper, plastic bag, plastic film, plastic bottles.
This initiative is a part of the continuous effort by the Environment Committee to raise social conscious towards Plastic Waste and change the perception and habits of the society towards plastic waste by showing them correct methods of waste recycling which would in the long run bring back the ecological balance and also put waste plastic to correct use for the benefit of mankind.
