ROCTOOL and Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight highlighted their collaboration work at NPE 2015.
The specialist in the design and development of technologies for rapid molding of composites and plastic injection is working with 3D design software company Autodesk Inc. and its plastic injection molding software, Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight.
RocTool offers Heat and Cool technologies that ensure optimum surface quality directly from the mold. They feature improved mechanical properties at lower production costs. The technologies do not result in visible weld lines and help with difficult thin wall moldings or molding materials that require very high mold temperatures.
According to RocTool president and CEO Stéphane Hersen, “This relationship marks a real strategic change that will make RocTool’s technologies more accessible to manufacturers and subcontractors, and will allow customers to more easily compare designs and make better decisions.”
Hanno Van Raalte, Moldflow product manager at Autodesk, said: “Manufacturers can compare possible alternative configuration and see the impact on final product quality and cycle time, before the tool design is finalized.”
