SIAL CHINA, Asia’s largest food innovation exhibition is all set to welcome 2,900 exhibitors and 66,000 professional visitors to its 17th edition, taking place from 5 to 7 May at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. On a floor space of 126,000sqm, the trade event will bring together many of the world’s leading food and beverage companies.
Poland: Guest Country of Honor
Geared toward becoming the major food supplier not only for Europe but also other Asian markets, Poland will join SIAL CHINA 2016 as the Guest Country of Honor, bringing Polish apple, pork, cheese and other specialties.

Largest pavilion
South Korea tops all the other national pavilions in terms of the square meter to showcase their stylish and healthy K-food. Also with pavilions are the United States, Taiwan, Turkey, Argentina, Poland, Spain, France, Australia and Brazil, which rank numbers two to ten after South Korea.

Trade visitors will also be able to meet representatives from Dubai. This is the first-time the city will be represented at SIAL CHINA.

For the past 16 years, SIAL CHINA has been a reliable venue for show delegates to witness the country’s evolving food market. This year, Gansu will be the Guest Province of Honor. Exhibitors from this province will showcase their wines, halal foods, seafood products and organic foods.
As an important platform that bridges foreign brand foods with the Chinese retail network, SIAL China welcomes many service and trade companies who will also present their expertise. Among them are Beijing CBTC, Beijing Bolongfuhai, Shenzhen TSL International Trade, Shanghai Anyway Agriculture as well as companies that facilitate the localization of global food innovation in China by integrating the supply chain, branding and retail channels.

SIAL CHINA is also supported by the numerous official organizations including Ministry of Agriculture, P.R.China, the China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance, China Federation of Logistic & Purchasing Cold Chain Logistic Committee, the Association of Ningxia Muslim beef and mutton industry and Hong Kong Trade Development Council. China’s top two dairy producers Mengniu and Yili will also present their innovative products at SIAL CHINA.

21 product sectors
Trade visitors can expect diverse food and beverages in 21 product sectors, including packaged snacks, fruits and vegetables, and healthy and organic food and gourmet food products. New developments and innovations in the global food industry will also be key at this event.
Leading Spanish jam manufacturer Helios will join SIAL CHINA for the first time. The company is eager to present its jams, vegetable preserves and other food products to Asian buyers.
Ceremony Gida, a leading Turkish group offers their strip gum, while Super Group from Singapore will showcase their iconic Southeast Asian coffee.
Australia Organic will breathe the greener lifestyle into Chinese diet once again.
Tetra Pak will return to SIAL China to present its processing and packaging technologies for Asian food and beverage.

Meat sector
The meat sector will occupy two dedicated halls (E3 & E4) covering 25,000 sqm. In this zone, Latin America will have the largest contingent, with Brazil to be represented by the Brazilian Beef Association ABIEC and the ABPA, the Brazilian association promoting pork and poultry.
Participation from the European meat group is growing as well, with national pavilions from Belgium, France, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Aside from them, exporters of American beef, Australian mutton, Chinese pork, and Indian poultry will also be at this event.
Dairy sector
As a major upgrade, SIAL CHINA 2016 will have the first ever independent DAIRY zone (W2) with Chinese and international manufacturers. Exporters from Belgium and Germany will showcase cheese and milk products. GEFA from Germany will return with a series of dairy products ranging from regular whole milk and buttermilk to yoghurt, quark, cheese, butter and whey.
Manufacturers from Lithuania will bring along green dairy products and introduce traditions of family farming which have been handed down from generation to generation.

Wine sector
Wine buyers will see a fresh new WINE zone (W5) which features quality wines from China and from the world’s wine regions. About 131 local companies and 50 internationals wine producers will be at this event. What to expect: a variety of wines from South Africa, Italy, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria and other European regions. CHATEAU DARMAGNAC, STIC WINES, VINA MARIA and other European wineries will be present to showcase European terroir. From China, Gansu wines will also showcase the region’s wines.
