Super high-speed monolayer blown film line for the global market

The year 2016 is a challenging time for players in the plastics machinery sector. Global market uncertainties, coupled with growing competition, are factors that create a cautious stance among companies in the industries. Some major Asian countries, like China, are also adjusting their policies and strategies during this time and these have created some impact on doing business.

Kung Hsing Plastics Machinery has seen some opportunities despite the challenges ahead. Kung Hsing Vice President, Kun-Lin Tsai, talks about the company’s moves to rejuvenate its brand and move ahead of competition in the global market.  

What differentiates Kung Hsing from other players in the market today?

Mr. Tsai:  Kung Hsing has a remarkable global share in the plastic machinery industry. The major reasons why we are prominently placed or represented in the Southeast Asian and the rest of the global market can be attributed to two factors: first, the efficiency of our operations, and second, the high quality of machineries that Kung Hsing produces. These exemplary features are particularly what differentiate us from the rest and the reasons why customers from over 130 countries have experienced the advantages of Kung Hsing machines.

What recent development in the company’s product lines reflects these advantages?

Mr. Tsai: Given the high energy emanating from the R&D team of Kung Hsing, we are finally releasing anew machinery after three years of research and testing. The super high-speed HDPE monolayer blown film line (Model KS-FEH) has been released to the market. This machine is categorized as a middle-end machinery, and a reflection of how our R&D team has spent a great amount of efforts in innovating to meet our goal of creating a high-performance machinery that is first-of-its-kind among the middle-end machineries.

The result proved to be a huge accomplishment for Kung Hsing as this latest model can double the production, which makes the machines relatively economical and practical for users if they evaluate their production in terms of cost and quality. This Model KS-FEH with its long lifespan will no doubt level up the quality and performance among the mid-to low –end plastics blown film machines.

Brand recognition is important to Kung Hsing and over the years the company has gained a reputation for quality. How do you maintain such status?

Mr. Tsai: Besides strong innovation drive that acted as the core spirit for Kung Hsing in maintaining the diversity and individuality of our products, the other critical factor for a senior plastics machinery manufacturer like us is to rejuvenate and sustain our excellent reputation. This is something we achieve by establishing a clear brand impression through secure product value. We anticipate that this kind of persistence in maintaining best quality will be spread out among our customers.

For Kung Hsing, it is equally and urgently important that two-way relations in the demand-and-supply of plastics machinery value a long-lasting developmental strategy rather than a short-term profit gain. I have regularly participated in international engineering seminars and we also study the latest research papers as we motivate our R&D team to monitor the most advanced technology in the market and initiate improvements in our machines. These are the key elements that we believe can turn a brand into a trustworthy and achieve an excellent reputation.

What are Kung Hsing’s upcoming activities to promote your products?

Mr. Tsai: Aside from our presence at TAIPEIPLAS 2016, Kung Hsing will exhibit the five- layer co-extrusion high speed blown film machine at K 2016. On one hand, we are introducing our high-performance machineries to the regional and global visitors. On the other hand, Kung Hsing will also proceed with our strategy to market our machineries to Southeast Asia and the rest of the Asian region. Although given the fact that Taiwan machineries might not be able to benefit from the tariff deduction agreement, Kung Hsing is confident that without the price advantage, we will still stand out from other machineries due to the quality and uniqueness of our products. We also put greater importance in innovation as we believe that this is a continuous effort that will drive growth and expand our customer base.
