On the sidelines of the upcoming 28th Japan International Machine Tool Fair at the Tokyo Big Sight, Corporate Synergy Development Center of Taiwan will be hosting a special machine tool component industry presentation and business networking event with several outstanding manufacturers of machinery components from Taiwan as key presenters. This will take place on Nov 21, 2016, at Conference Room 701 starting at 1:00 in the afternoon with seats reserved on a first come, first served basis.

This event was conceived on the back of increasing demand for Taiwan-made machine tool components in the Japanese machining market. According to a recent trade report by the International Trade Commission (ITC), last year’s shipments of such goods to Japan reached a record high of US$ 99.06 million, which is a close third to South Korea’s and group leader China’s.

Average annual growth rate in demand from 2011-2015 stood at 8.9 percent, which is the highest among the growth average posted by the major global suppliers. Taiwan attributed its growth to a number of large-scale Japanese manufacturers that have adopted machinery components designed and developed by Taiwanese companies.

The highlights of the industry presentations will focus on gears, cutting tools, indexing plates and other machinery components. These will be presented by some of the leading companies in their respective fields, which promise to deliver interesting information that is worth the attendees’ time and attention.

The presentations will also touch on the many contributions of the more than a thousand precision machinery manufacturing enterprises from Taiwan. These companies, which have formed a major industry cluster in the so-called “Machine Industry Golden Valley” located along a track of land measuring 60 kilometers long and 40 kilometers wide at the periphery of Tadu Mountain in Taichung, have been instrumental in helping the nation retain its position as the world’s 5th and 7th largest machine tool exporter and producer, respectively.

The Machine Tool & Component Integrated Marketing Program, the M-Team Alliance and other ongoing projects of the industry that have the full assistance and support of the government to ensure the continuous development of the machinery industry, will also be highlighted during this event. Guests will also be briefed on the latest in intelligent machinery technology and other R&D breakthroughs in Taiwan.

The numerous Japanese companies which have investments or business operations in Taiwan are a testament of the close relationships between the Taiwanese and Japanese machine tool industries. Taiwan, on the other hand, is a top buyer of Japanese-made machine tools, which accounts for US$ 4.4 billion worth of machinery imports annually, and also a major supplier of machine tool components, which amount to some 183 million US dollars annually. Through this event, the two sides will further foster long-term cooperation with each other to help realize a better future for all.
