Two international conferences to be hosted by Apollo Hospitals Group

NEW DELHI – The Apollo Hospitals Group will host the '3rd International Conference on Transforming Healthcare with IT 2012' on 31 August-1 September at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad, and the '2nd International Congress on Patient Safety; Best Practices for Asia' on 1-2 September 2012 at the same venue.

The ‘3rd International Conference on Transforming Healthcare with IT 2012’ aims to bring together healthcare ecosystem players from around the world to discuss technology-driven solutions equitable, sustainable, quality healthcare system.

The conference will feature 70 speakers including 26 specialists from USA, Canada, UK, Middle East, Pakistan, Belgium, Denmark, Bulgaria, Japan, New Zealand, Malaysia and Iran. The speakers will participate in the conference to share their experiences on how ICT (Information and Communications Technology) is making a major difference in healthcare. A special tutorial on Health Information Systems and Digital Health Records will also be conducted as a part of the conference.

“The conference aims to provide an insight on how reforms can affect health organizations and patients by providing efficient and effective solutions to common challenges faced. Against this backdrop, the International Conference on Transforming Healthcare with IT will seek to highlight best-practice solutions for present day problems, while the second International Conference will focus on practices and systems that boost Patient Safety," said Ms. Sangita Reddy, Executive Director for Operations, Apollo Hospitals.

The ‘2nd International Congress on Patient Safety’ will address critical issues on patient safety from experts across the world and discuss how proactive practices and streamlined systems could improve patient safety. The event will also feature multi-disciplinary invigorating learning sessions with participants from all areas of the healthcare continuum, including clinical and administrative leaders, practitioners, healthcare academics, regulators and caregivers.

A joint panel discussion will highlight how ICT can make a difference in patient safety. Government and the State Governments representatives will also discuss the role of ICT and eHealth initiatives across India. Exhibitors will also present the latest advances made in the use of information technology in healthcare.
