Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2017 supports industrial development

WME has continued to exemplify the technology and creativity that drive the manufacturing industry with over 8,974 industrialists from many sectors across Vietnam. 

Vietnam’s premier exhibition for the industrial sector, Vietnam Manufacturing Expo (VME) held a successful 2017 edition on April 26-28, 2017 at Hanoi International Center For Exhibition (I.C.E., Hanoi). The exhibition, has continued to exemplify the technology and creativity that drive the manufacturing industry by garnering over 8,974 industrialists from many sectors across Vietnam.

Co-located events with VME 2017 were Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam (ICSV) and Vietnam Sheet Metal (VSM) which were combined into one comprehensive event to further upgrade and empower production efficiency and business connection. The exhibition welcomed 347 groups from 37 countries. The business match making program successfully matched 312 key buyers, an increase of 30% from 2016.

This year, KOMA TAISEN in Hanoi 2017 has returned as an opportunity for Vietnamese SMEs manufacturers to show and promote their high professional skills. The competition was concluded with the announcement of the new winner, Hanoi College For Electro and Mechanics team 2 which has the best spin top in Hanoi crafted from powerful CNC machine. Another activity was created for the purpose of encouraging welders and manufacturers to improve their competitiveness; “Welding Competition” was jointly organized by Vietnam-German Technology Transfer and Training Center (HWC) and Reed Tradex Co., Ltd. during the show days. All participated candidates have taken the first round of theory parts, second round of 3G and 6G welding practical exams to finally discover the best welder of the year - Mr. Trinh Van Son.

“Vietnam has had a great turn recently, providing many opportunities for foreign companies to grab with. And, Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2017 is one of the effective tools to help me capitalize that opportunities”, Mr. Takeshi Tamura, Managing Director of Tsubakimoto Vietnam Co., LTD, one of the exhibitors, shared his opinion. Besides of the demonstration of technology and machinery which focuses on metrology and assembly automation, the organizer has also proposed and boldly introduced the concept of "Industry 4.0" into the exhibition through enrich content seminar program.

Limited, is the perfect place to gain experience from the best in the industry. However, the VME Forum with the support from Vietnamese Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI) under the topic of “New Technological Applications in Manufacturing Mechanical Products” was able to deliver deeper overview of current and upcoming technology application to spark new ideas and boost competitiveness ahead of other competitors.

Over the three days of the exhibition, the event provided exhibitors an environment apt for the business promotion through networking with potential customers. Mr. Yap Han Song, Product Manager of IGUS Singapore Pte Ltd shared that “Vietnam Manufacturing Expo is a good place where our company can promote our products. Plus, we can meet new potential customers and strengthen relationship with existing partners in Vietnam. This exhibition supports our company a lot in discovering and catching up with manufacturing trend in Vietnam”.

One of exhibitors, Mr. Le Thanh Vinh, CEO of New Century International Co., Ltd. stated that “New generation’s free trade agreement is both opportunities and challenges of the Vietnam economy in general and Vietnam manufacturing industry in particular. With over 10 years of cooperating and taking part in VME, our company has taken this chance to provide automation solutions for enterprises to enhance the competitiveness in both domestic and foreign markets.”

Mr. Taveesak Srisuntisuk, Managing Director of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence said that “Vietnam market is still going up which has attracted many international investors to tap into the market. We contribute to concept of heading up to Industry 4.0 at VME by bringing our comprehensive range of products and services which are widely applied in the automotive, aerospace, energy, and medical sectors to boost production efficiency and competitiveness.”

The exhibition also reflects positive signal of increasing number of FDI investors in Vietnam, Mr. Edward Hahn, Starline SE Asia Chief Representative of Universal Electric Corporation shared “This was the first time I take part in this exhibition and I see the number of visitors is quite good. Vietnam is also a kind of good market to find partners.”
