New Ringier CEO visits China office

Christian Unger, the new CEO of Ringier AG, has visited Ringier Trade Publishing Ltd's Shanghai office on March 23, 2009 giving the opportunity to meet Mike Hay, managing director of Ringier Trade Publishing Ltd, and the other staff. Unger was previously the CEO of the Naspers subsidiary MIH Internet Europe BV and former CEO of Bertelsmann China. He joined Ringier AG in January this year. As a new CEO, he seeks to get acquainted with the Ringier AG staff worldwide.
Tata Steel launches power house #6

The Governor of Jharkhand, Syed Sibtey Razi, has inaugurated Power House #6 (PH #6) inside Tata Steel Works. The inauguration of the PH #6 is an achievement by Tata Steel's Jamshedpur Works and a step towards its expansion plan to produce 6.8 metric tons. The PH #6 has been developed by Industrial Energy Ltd (a joint venture company of Tata Power and Tata Steel).
UGML builds pig iron plant in Maharashtra

Uttam Galva Metallics Ltd (UGML) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Maharashtra to establish a pig iron manufacturing plant with a proposed output of half a million tones. The plant located at Wardha, Maharashtra will be an integrated facility for steel making, complete with coke oven and sinter plant. The project will also generate employment opportunity for about 380 people.
API opens Belgaum metal finishing facility

Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) keeps its momentum going in full swing, with the opening of its new overseas office in Beijing. This is BOI's second office in China after the one in Shanghai. The BOI aims to attract more Chinese investment, particularly in machinery and equipment, metalworking, pharmaceutical and alternative energy. The agency will also open another China office in Guangzhou by the third quarter of this year.
