With medical advancements and the heightening needs of private and corporate clients, Matilda International Hospital (MIH) will focus on facilities and environment upgrades as well as opening its fourth clinic in Kowloon this year. Imaging Diagnostic Systems, a pioneer in laser breast imaging, has developed the CT Laser Mammography (CTLM) system, a breast imaging device that utilises patented continuous wave laser technology and computer algorithms to create 3D images of the breast. The procedure is noninvasive and painless and does not expose the patient to ionising radiation or painful breast compression. CTLM is designed to be used in conjunction with mammography. It reveals information about blood distribution in the breast and may visualise the process of angiogenesis, which usually accompanies tumor growth.
