Eagle Product Inspection offers versatile x-ray technologies for greater profitability in today's omnichannel market.

Multiple requirements don't have to involve more equipment or complexities. As manufacturers expand their product portfolios and work with additional customers in an omnichannel market, versatile x-ray technologies allow them to meet productivity goals while protecting their brand.

The latest inline technologies from Eagle Product Inspection include systems with multilane options that enable manufacturers to run different products through a machine, ultimately improving line efficiency and profitability. “Even before changes related to the pandemic, there was a need to do more with less. Advances in x-ray technology, including machinery and the software that powers it, can be optimized to conduct multiple simultaneous checks for quality and safety using one machine,” says Christy Draus, Marketing Manager for Eagle Product Inspection. “Manufacturers get to keep more of their hard-earned profits with an automated system that detects hazardous contaminants and performs quality checks in a fast and highly efficient way.”

An example of this kind of solution is the Eagle Pack 720 PRO with material discrimination x-ray technology (MDX).  The Eagle Pack 720 PRO detects and rejects a range of contaminants, including glass shards, metal fragments, mineral stone, calcified bone and some rubber and plastic compounds in plastic containers, cartons/boxes and pouches. The machine can help manufacturers boost productivity by simultaneously performing quality checks such as mass measurement and component count. With the multilane capability, users can inspect multiple lanes of the same or different products or alternatively use one lane for production and the other for rework. When the machine is equipped with the Eagle PRODUCT SWITCH™ feature, machines scan a barcode to run products with different inspection requirements on the same line by instantly switching to the right set of parameters.

“Even when running multiple product types and inspecting hard-to-read products, like ready meals or bagged salad varieties, the Pack 720 PRO delivers on accuracy and versatility, literally with the push of a button,” says Draus. “As manufacturers face a future with a need for greater automation, efficiencies and flexibility, they can rely on single source solutions that provide all-around value.”
