Ishida Europe further strengthens its presence in South Africa with a move to new, larger premises in the Spartan region of Kempton Park.
The offices are over twice the size of Ishida’s previous facility, with the additional space enabling the company to enhance its comprehensive sales and service support offering to both existing and potential customers. They will house a large demonstration area featuring machines from across Ishida’s entire portfolio of weighing, bagmaking, tray sealing, inspection and quality control models. This will allow customers to run in-depth trials to help identify the most appropriate solution for their particular requirements. In its first weeks in operation, the facility has already hosted trials on products as diverse as frozen berries, avocados and fresh chicken.

In addition, the building has extensive storage space, enabling Ishida to carry a huge stockholding of spare parts, reducing lead times to support the company’s service operations and provide a fast response to customer orders. Ishida first opened a dedicated office in South Africa in 2000. The company’s General Sales Manager RSA Melika Seiderer says the move to the new facility underlines the importance Ishida continues to attach to South Africa and the greater African region.
“As markets start to open up after the pandemic, we know that efficient production, backed up by high levels of service support, will be critical to helping companies to prosper and make the most of their business opportunities,” she commented.
“We are committed to helping companies maximise the benefits of automation to achieve their goals. Our expanded facility will ensure we can react even more quickly to devise appropriate solutions and keep production and packing lines running at maximum performance.”
