The presence of many plastics and rubber exhibitions in Asia has provided much impetus for growth, and has encouraged manufacturers to innovate for the benefit of the various industries dependent on plastics and rubber. International Plastic Fair Japan (IPF Japan), held every three years, has been an important event for those who are looking for machines made by Japanese makers. To date, the show is the only place where trade visitors get to meet and compare the latest offerings by Japanese makers in the areas of injection moulding machines, extrusion plants, automation, ancillary equipment and precision moulds.
IPF Japan 2011 is not a venue for those looking for low-cost machines. But for those in search of high-end machines, the show offers world-class innovative solutions and technologies geared for plastic and rubber production. This is because Japanese machinery makers have long been known as leaders in plastic moulding technologies. Most Japanese makers target IPF Japan as launching venue for their new products. This means that visitors can see the latest technology from Japan only at IPF Japan, and not in any other major shows around the world. But this year's edition will also feature foreign exhibitors which aim to cut a slice of Japan's resilient market.
Organised by International Plastic Fair Association, IPF Japan 2011 is supported by leading government agencies and associations, including the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO); Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises; and Regional Innovation, Japan. The show's organiser has also assured that the nuclear plant accident in March as a result of the earthquake will not affect the show's attendance as Tokyo has returned to normal and is located 200 km from the nuclear plant. Thus, radiation level in Tokyo is as low as in other major cities around the world.
