BANNER Engineering’s new Q4X laser sensor can detect distance changes of as small as 1mm on black objects with black backgrounds or reflective items. It features high excess gain and a 64-element imager to reduce detection, counting, and orientation validation errors.
Banner Engineering’s versatile Q4X Laser Sensor (from left to right) reliably detects black objects on black backgrounds for such challenging applications as door panel assembly and gasket detection; accurately counts reflective packages; or validates orientation of pharmaceutical caps
The rugged and versatile laser sensor supports difficult distance-based applications over a range of 25mm to 300mm. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including automotive, tire/rubber, materials handling, packaging, quality control, automation, lumber/timber, metalworking, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, plastics, printing, robotics, food processing, and appliance manufacturing, allowing OEMs and end-users to reduce inventory of different sensor types.
The Q4X sensor has bipolar PNP and NPN outputs to connect to PLC or other control units. The sensor uses easy-to-navigate comprehensive menus and a bright output indicator. It has an angled four-digit, seven-segment LED display with push buttons for easy viewing.
The product comes in an Ecolab-certified, IP67-, IP68-, and IP69K-rated stainless steel housing. The casing is designed to withstand impact, vibration, over-tightening, and aggressive cleaning.
Banner Engineering is a leading manufacturer of vision, photoelectric and ultrasonic sensors, fiber-optic assemblies, machine guarding systems, measurement and inspection systems, and wireless network products. It provides local application support around the world.
