 Excellent Pipes Company LLC operates under a philosophy of incessant improvement and innovation. The company is part of the Hedley International Group which was founded in the United Arab Emirates in 1978 by its Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Al Refaey. Hedley International Emirates Contracting LLC is the main subsidiary of Hedley International Group.
Established in 2000, Excellent Pipes Company LLC enjoys a good status in the local and regional business community. In an interview with International Plastics News – Middle East (IRNE), Mr. Mohammed Al Refaey shared his vision for the company, its achievements and the growth prospects going forward.

IRNE: What are the products and services offered by Excellent Pipes Company?
Mr. Refaey: Established in the year 2000 as part of Hedley Industrial Group, Excellent Pipes Company (EPC) enjoys a unique standing in the piping industry, capitalising on the group's long history of successful achievements, awards and accomplished projects. The company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high quality glass reinforced polyester (GRP) and reinforced concrete piping (RCP) systems. We operate a state-of-the-art plant in Abu Dhabi for the manufacture and supply of uPVC, ABS, PE pipes and sub-ducts as well as fittings and GRP and RC Pipes.
We strive to achieve excellence in our operations and these efforts were rewarded as we received several awards, including the Sheikh Khalifa Industrial and Excellence Awards. We also obtained certification from American Concrete Pipe Association, as well as ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

IRNE: Which major industries do you serve?
Mr. Refaey: We cater largely to infrastructure projects and the construction industry at large. The company operates one production facility with three different state-of-the-art production plants in the industrial city of Abu Dhabi (ICAD-1), Musaffah, Abu Dhabi.
FIBERBOND GRP products, for instance, are used for a wide range of applications including sanitary sewerage, industrial waste water and effluents, sea water, cooling water, fire water lines and potable water.
Our pipe systems are used for pressure applications, underground drain and sewer applications, electrical and telephone networks, soil and waste discharge utilities etc. while our raw materials are procured from both local and international sources.

IRNE: In which category did the company win the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award?
Mr. Refaey: Excellent Pipes Company is no stranger to the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Awards programme. In 2003, the company achieved the Silver Award for the category "Progress Towards Quality". This was quickly followed in 2005 by two further awards: a Gold Award for the Sheikh Khalifa Industrial category and a further Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award for recognition and appreciation of distinguished achievements in adopting Quality and Business Excellence.
Excellent Pipes Company's achievement demonstrates its commitment to provide valued piping solutions to the business partners in the region. The company continues to develop in terms of providing top quality products and services, that recently it added a new star to its shining record of distinction when it won the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award 10th Cycle (2010 – 2011), Silver Award. During a ceremony held at the Emirates Palace Hotel last May, the award was presented to us by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western region under the leadership of H.H General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E Armed Forces.
