Rising demand for potable water in Asia Pacific will boost the sector as water desalination requirements climb due to the shortage of freshwater
STRONGER demand for potable water amid the depletion of water resources will drive the residential water treatment equipment market, according to the new Residential Water Treatment Equipment Market in the APAC Region market research report published by TechNavio.

The sector is expected to grow at 15.53% CAGR from 2014 to 2019, the study forecasts. Water desalination will grow in areas with acute shortage of freshwater sources due to the huge water demand-supply imbalance.

According to TechNavio vice president Faisal Ghaus, demand for fresh and pure water will rise by 50% in the next 10 years because of the persistent depletion of water resources. “To fill this huge gap, it is crucial to save water and treat it properly so as to increase the availability of potable water. This will influence the overall growth of this market,” he said.

Efforts by various governments to develop water treatment standards and codes will also help industries and manufacturing units save water. Governments in the APAC region, in particular, are encouraging the adoption of effective wastewater treatment methods to recycle wastewater.

TechNavio's report, Residential Water Treatment Equipment Market in the APAC Region 2015-2019, has been prepared based on an in-depth market analysis with inputs from industry experts. Key vendors
include GE Infrastructure Water and Process Technologies, Kurita Water Industries, NALCO and Pentair.
