2015 Laser Innovation awards open for entries

THE 2015 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Laser Industry is now accepting nominations. Entries can be submitted until January 4, 2015. The Awards cover six categories, namely Lasers, Laser System Components, System Peripherals of Laser Production Engineering, Optical Materials and Components, 3D Printing, and Laser Systems for Production Engineering, with the last covering laser cutting systems, laser engraving systems, laser marking systems, and laser welding systems. Only new products and solutions launched in the China market from 2013 to 2015 are eligible for nomination. The online peer voting and judging is scheduled for January 9 to 25, 2015.

The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on March 18, which will coincide with the Laser World of Photonics 2015 to be held in Shanghai. The event will be attended by all winners, judges, industry professionals, and the media. The Awards, which are now on their 2nd year, are organized by Industrial Laser Solutions China and Ringier Trade Media, and supported by Industrial Laser Solutions, published in the U.S. They are presented to a select group of innovators in China each year with the objective of recognizing individuals and companies who have introduced and developed a new idea, methodology, product or technology for manufacturing production efficiency, cost effectiveness, and user convenience toward promoting energy saving and clean manufacturing in the laser industry. The first Laser Innovation Awards held last year recognized 30 innovative products across six different categories. The winners included the 20w Mopa Pulsed Fiber Laser from Wuhan Raycus, the 20W Smart Pulse Fiber Laser from Shenzhen iLuma Photonics, the G3015HD laser cutting machine from Han's Laser Technology, the Fiber Laser cutting machine from Suzhou Lead, and the Plus3015-Fiber 3000W from Wuhan Penta.
