AROUND 150 companies, an increase of 30% compared to the last edition, have participated in this show, displaying highly functional metal materials (aluminum, copper, titanium, magnesium, a noble metal, steel, etc.) and processing machines, analysis/inspection equipment, recycling technologies, etc.
METAL Japan, with its concurrent shows, 6th FilmTech Japan - Highly-functional Film Expo, 4th PLASTIC Japan – Highly-functional Plastic Expo, together makes “Highly-functional Material World”, the only exhibition specializes in highly functional materials and equipment. This is the deciding point that differs Metal Japan from other metal tradeshows. The other factor is that it focuses on highly functional material, catering needs for lighter and stronger materials in metal industry. Exhibitions can be used in a wide range of sectors such as automobile, smartphone/tablet, renewable energy, aircraft, medical equipment, etc.
According to the organizer, Reed Exhibition, the show has already attracted 16,777 local and international visitors at the very first day, including 4,241 VIP visitors who are decision makers like presidents. With the heat going on, 70,000 visitors from 50 countries/regions are expected to come during the three-day event. Among them around 10% are from overseas, including China, Taiwan and Korea.
The exhibition area is divided into Material Zone, housing highly-functional Alloy & Metal, material, metal powder, semi-finished metal product and Processing Technology Zone, focusing on Inspection/Measurement Equipment, Forming Technology & Equipment, Secondary Processing Technology & Equipment, etc. Big players in the metal industry such as KOBE STEEL, DAIDO STEEL, NIPPON STEEL & SUMITOMO METAL, SANYO SPECIAL STEEL have all actively brought their advanced products and cutting-edge technologies here, seeking market opportunities.
Hajime SUZUKI, group vice president of Reed Exhibition Japan Ltd said 2nd METAL Japan has expanded by 30% to meet visitors’ needs, bringing more exhibitors from steel-related and processing technology sector. “The metal part is really booming and it is expected to double next year. That’s why we plan to move it to the west hall in 2016. With the 1st Ceramics Japan- Highly-functional Ceramic Expo introduced in next year, we will provide our visitors with a better one-stop service.”
“Metal Japan is quite new, but I’m sure the quality of the show and exhibitors is very high. We are really looking forward to more visitors, professionals coming from the Greater China, Southeast Asia, etc. Any companies want to enter the metal market in Japan, they are also more than welcome to our show.”
