The 3DSPRINT promises to make the design-to-manufacturing workflow faster, simpler, and connected.

3D Systems has announced the 3DSPRINT desktop and cloud-based platform.

Designed to break down design and manufacturing barriers to 3D printing and change the way people handle 3D data, the 3DSPRINT allows users to access, store, share, and print 3D data anytime, anywhere, and from any source. It is a free platform for all users and provides premium enterprise features to improve productivity and workflow control.

With the 3DSPRINT, engineers, designers, service bureaus, and customers can focus on delivering high-quality products faster. They can work with 3D data from virtually any source in their browser or via the desktop app. In addition to preparing 3D data for printing, users can calculate costs instantly via a  sophisticated printability analysis and instant cost calculation systems, and decide when and where to print.

3DS’ Quickparts service allows users to access the full range of on-demand cloud printing capabilities with just a single click. Users can also print 3D through an in-house printer.

3DS plans to preview the 3DSPRINT platform with live demos and exclusive invitations to users at EuroMold 2014, held November 25 to 27.

The desktop app is now available for the ProJet 1200 and ProJet 5500X. It will also be available for the entire range of ProJet and ProX printers. The cloud app will be available for preview and user feedback after the trade show. Sign up to be part of the customer preview to get early access to prerelease versions.

3DS president and CEO Avi Reichental said 3DSPRINT will provide engineers and designers with the ultimate streamlined shared cloud and desktop platform experience to make the design-to-manufacturing workflow faster, simpler, and ubiquitously connected. “We are very excited to deliver the full power and benefits of our integrated digital thread to our extensive user community worldwide,” Reichental said.
