The 2025 ASEAN Manufacturing Summit – Creating a Circular Economy for Plastics on November 5 in Jakarta, Indonesia focuses on key areas in the production of plastic packaging and recycling with expert speakers sharing their valuable insights.

The future is circular – and Indonesia has taken game-changing steps to steer its manufacturing sector into more sustainable production. A World Bank report in 2023 ranked Indonesia as Southeast Asia’s manufacturing powerhouse with value of more than US$255 billion. With its huge population of 280 million, there is no doubt that Indonesia has become the leading market in the region for consumer products.

The launch of the Circular Economy Roadmap and National Action Plan (2025-2045) in 2024 by the Indonesian Government released guidelines where industry stakeholders are required to take an active role in the transition toward a circular economy. Both documents mark an important milestone in the country’s serious commitment to address climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution through the shift away from the traditional linear model. At the center of this development is the plastics manufacturing sector, which continues to  face many challenges. Yet Indonesia's plastics market is projected to grow by at least 5.1%  annually to reach US$8.1 billion by 2030.

The 2025 ASEAN Manufacturing Summit – Creating a Circular Economy for Plastics on November 5 in Jakarta, Indonesia focuses on key areas in the production of plastic products, among them, sustainable rigid and flexible packaging, plastic recycling technology, environment-friendly raw materials, automation and smart manufacturing solutions. This year, the Summit will take participants to a higher level of learning with information-packed presentations that will enable them to achieve enhanced efficiency and move forward in their goals to achieve a circular economy. This dynamic onsite conference offers unlimited business networking opportunities for all foreign and Indonesia-based participating companies to enable them to overcome market challenges.

This year, the Summit has the active participation of the most influential industry associations – the Indonesian Packaging Federation (IPF), Indonesian Plastics Recyclers (IPF), Indonesia ISO Expert Association (IIEA), Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association (ADUPI) and Packaging Development Federation (PDF). Business Partners for this conference are  Boltzmann (Guangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd., which specializes in cutting-edge online thickness measurement solutions for industries such as manufacturing and quality control; and Tat Ming Technology Co., Ltd., a leading company in the injection molding industry offering customized solutions. The conference also has the special participation of Suryacipta, City of Industry.
