PARKSON proudly introduces the FMH Series, a new generation of high-precision rotary tables engineered specifically for horizontal machining applications. Expanding PARKSON’s portfolio of premium rotary solutions, the FMH Series combines outstanding cutting rigidity with ultra-high indexing accuracy in a compact, optimized structure—making it an ideal solution for Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS) and automated production lines.
Engineered for Rigidity, Accuracy, and Reliability
Designed for horizontal machining centers (HMCs) and demanding heavy-duty cutting operations, the FMH Series features a highly rigid drive system, configurable with either a cylindrical roller cam mechanism or direct-drive technology. This advanced drive architecture significantly minimizes transmission backlash while enhancing damping characteristics and vibration resistance.
The result is a rotary axis that delivers exceptionally high repeatability, verified in accordance with VDI 3441, alongside long service life and reduced maintenance requirements. Optimized transmission efficiency further enables fast indexing and clamping, effectively shortening non-cutting time and improving overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
Optimized for Heavy Cutting and Automation
The FMH Series is equipped with a modular, upgradeable clamping system, supplied as standard in a high-pressure hydraulic configuration and optionally expandable with smart automation interfaces. This robust design efficiently withstands high cutting torque and eccentric loads commonly encountered in horizontal machining, while reducing continuous servo motor loading.
These capabilities make the FMH Series particularly suitable for machining large aerospace components, automotive engine parts, and other heavy workpieces that demand both stability and precision.
Compact Design, Maximum Performance
Despite its high rigidity, the FMH Series features an extremely compact housing that minimizes interference zones while maintaining exceptional cutting stability. This allows for a larger workpiece swing radius and supports high acceleration and deceleration response, making the system ideal for applications requiring both high material removal rates (MRR) and superior surface quality.
With its balanced combination of structural strength, high load capacity, and dynamic performance, the FMH Series serves as a key building block in modern horizontal machine tool design.
Modular Integration for Smart Factories
Like all PARKSON rotary workholding systems, the FMH Series adopts a fully modular design. It can be deployed as a standalone fourth axis or seamlessly integrated into multi-pallet automatic pallet changing (APC) systems, making it especially well-suited for unmanned production cells and smart factory environments.
To accommodate diverse application requirements, users can select from a range of high-resolution encoder systems, central rotary joints, and zero-point locating solutions, ensuring that rotary-axis performance is precisely matched to the needs of aerospace manufacturing, the automotive supply chain, and precision mold engineering.
Experience the FMH Series Live
The FMH Series will be showcased at upcoming international machine tool exhibitions, where PARKSON will present the new solution alongside its automated storage systems and a complete lineup of rotary table technologies.
