From advancing expertise in milling theory, to exploring data and tooling for milling and aluminium machining, the ten training sessions are open to partners, customers and employees and will explore product use, safety protocols and technical expertise.

Last year, the Bangkok training facility became a crucial hub in Sandvik Coromant’s global network of facilities. Fully equipped with modern training resources, the centre was designed with the professional development of Sandvik Coromant’s customers, people and partners in mind.
All sessions are led by Sandvik Coromant’s “Yellow Coat” experts and cover a comprehensive range of topics. The first session taking place in 2026 is ‘cutting data and tooling for milling and aluminium machining’ on January 28. This session will cover the core principles of milling theory, how to select the right insert grades and coatings and tool selection strategies for milling and aluminium machining.
On March 25, ‘advance your expertise in milling theory’ is designed to strengthen the users understanding of milling fundamentals and learn how to make informed tool selection decisions.
The fifth session of the year is ‘fundamentals of drilling and solid round tools for hole making’ on May 26. With this session, gain practical insights into the basics of drilling, tap and reamer, learn how to optimise cutting data for efficiency and accuracy, as well as understanding strategies for improving hole quality and tool life.
On July 22, a session titled ‘unlock milling theory and solid round tools for end milling’, will dive into the basics of milling and solid round tool milling and explain how to calculate cutting parameters and smartly select tools for optimal productivity.
Attendees can strengthen their understanding of machining fundamentals and practical applications with a session titled ‘advance your knowledge in turning, threading, parting and grooving’. Taking place on August 27, the session will explore strategies to extend tool life and reduce machining costs, as well as correctly select cutting tools for threading on turning centers — giving attendees the confidence to make informed tool choices.
The final two sessions taking place in September and October will explore sector specific solutions for aerospace and electric vehicle (EV) component machining.
“With the release of our 2026 training schedule, we’re building on the strong foundation established since we opened the Bangkok centre last year,” said Manny Valenza, Sales Cluster Manager, South East Asia and Oceania at Sandvik Coromant. “Each session is designed to deliver practical, application-focused knowledge that helps our customers and partners make better tooling and machining decisions.
“By covering everything from milling and drilling fundamentals to advanced turning strategies, the new 2026 programme supports manufacturers at every stage of their machining journey.
“The Bangkok centre has quickly become an important regional hub for knowledge sharing,” added Valenza. “Through structured, academy-aligned training, we’re helping customers improve productivity, extend tool life and build confidence in their machining processes.”
