Among the highlights, OSCARMAX showcased its OSCAR FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System), a fully integrated EDM automation solution that attracted strong interest from buyers in mold making, aerospace, and precision machining sectors.
Unlike traditional single-machine displays, OSCARMAX presented a “complete production line” approach. The system integrates EDM machines, robotic arms, automated storage, measurement systems, and data management into a unified platform. Through its FMS architecture, multiple machines can be connected to enable automated material handling, intelligent scheduling, and real-time monitoring, significantly reducing reliance on manual operations.
A key strength of OSCAR FMS lies in its modular design, allowing flexible configuration based on application needs. Modules include electrode and workpiece storage systems, RFID identification, online measurement systems, and robotic automation with a 7th-axis configuration, enabling a fully unmanned production environment. The system also integrates seamlessly with ERP and MES platforms, supporting communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, and EtherNet/IP for real-time data connectivity and production transparency.
Another highlight at the exhibition was the OSCARPGM automatic programming system. By leveraging 3D CAM data, the system automatically generates EDM machining programs, including electrode compensation, mold edge detection, and parameter settings. This significantly reduces operator dependency, cutting manual operation time by over 80% and improving machine utilization by more than 40%.
OSCAR FMS also addresses the growing demand for high-mix, low-volume production. With advanced work order management and process control, manufacturers can dynamically adjust production schedules and achieve “one-piece flow.” Meanwhile, integrated online measurement ensures consistent product quality and minimizes defects.
In practical applications, OSCARMAX has successfully deployed its solutions in aerospace and automotive mold manufacturing, building automated EDM production lines that integrate electrode storage, inspection, and cleaning systems. These implementations have improved productivity, machine utilization, and operational stability while reducing labor costs and human error.
Notably, OSCARMAX promotes a phased implementation strategy, enabling manufacturers to adopt automation step by step, reducing upfront investment while maintaining scalability for future expansion.
