Global semiconductor company Analog Devices has strengthened its manufacturing capabilities in Asia-Pacific with the opening of a new advanced manufacturing facility in Thailand, reinforcing its long-term strategy to build a more resilient and sustainable global supply chain.
Located in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the new facility is designed to enhance backend semiconductor operations, including wafer-level processing, chip-scale packaging, and final IC testing. The expansion increases cleanroom and manufacturing capacity while enabling the company to respond more efficiently to rising global semiconductor demand across industrial, automotive, communications, consumer electronics, and digital healthcare sectors.
According to ADI, the investment forms part of its hybrid manufacturing strategy, which combines internal production facilities with external foundry and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) partners. This approach allows the company to improve operational flexibility, geographic diversification, and supply chain resilience amid ongoing global market uncertainties.
“Thailand is one of the strategic hubs of ADI’s global manufacturing footprint,” said Vincent Roche, CEO and Chair of Analog Devices. He noted that the expansion reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the region and its ability to deliver reliable and sustainable semiconductor technologies at scale.
The facility incorporates advanced automation and digital manufacturing technologies to improve production efficiency, precision, and environmental performance. Designed as a smart and sustainable factory, the site supports intelligent manufacturing processes that help accelerate response times while maintaining high quality and reliability standards.
Sustainability is also a key focus of the new operation. ADI stated that the facility was developed in alignment with LEED standards and is the first site within the company’s manufacturing network intended to achieve Platinum LEED certification. The facility utilizes renewable electricity, advanced water recycling systems, and real-time environmental monitoring technologies. In addition, Analog Devices Thailand has become the first semiconductor manufacturer in Thailand to adopt low-carbon liquid nitrogen to reduce emissions associated with semiconductor testing operations.
Established in 2000, Analog Devices Thailand has played a major role in the company’s global backend manufacturing operations for more than two decades. The latest expansion further positions Thailand as an increasingly important semiconductor production hub in Southeast Asia, supported by strong infrastructure, engineering talent, and supply chain advantages.
Beyond manufacturing expansion, ADI is also investing in local talent development through collaborations with Thai universities and initiatives such as the ADI Thailand Academy. These programs aim to strengthen engineering expertise in areas including automation, smart factory technologies, failure analysis, and semiconductor testing.
