Axians and Actemium have presented field-proven IT/OT solutions for industry, critical infrastructure, and secure digitalization under the motto “Industrial Solutions. Proven. Secured.”

The convergence of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) emerged as one of the defining themes at HANNOVER MESSE 2026, as manufacturers increasingly seek fully connected and intelligent production environments capable of improving efficiency, cybersecurity, and operational resilience.

At the exhibition, Axians and Actemium, both brands under VINCI Energies, demonstrated how integrated IT/OT architectures are enabling the next generation of smart factories through secure digitalization, AI integration, industrial networking, and real-time data visibility.

Presented under the theme “Industrial Solutions. Proven. Secured.”, the showcase highlighted how manufacturers are moving beyond isolated automation systems toward unified digital ecosystems where machines, production processes, enterprise systems, and cybersecurity platforms operate as interconnected networks.

One of the key attractions at the booth was a live OT Smart Factory demonstration featuring interconnected process control systems, AI-supported remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and integrated cybersecurity solutions. The demonstration illustrated how IT and OT convergence enables seamless communication between factory-floor equipment and enterprise-level digital systems while enhancing production visibility and operational decision-making.

Cybersecurity was also heavily emphasized throughout the showcase. As factories become increasingly connected, industrial companies are facing growing risks linked to OT vulnerabilities, ransomware attacks, and data breaches. Axians and Actemium demonstrated OT security monitoring, attack detection systems, and Security Operations Center (SOC) solutions designed to strengthen protection across industrial networks while supporting compliance with evolving regulations such as NIS-2.

The broader exhibition reflected an industry-wide acceleration toward software-defined manufacturing environments where AI, industrial IoT, cloud platforms, digital twins, and unified MES systems are becoming central to factory operations. Analysts at Hannover Messe 2026 noted that manufacturers are increasingly prioritizing real-time operational intelligence, scalable industrial data platforms, and cross-domain system integration to improve agility and competitiveness.

Interactive use cases presented by Axians and Actemium covered industries including transportation, automotive, and paper manufacturing, demonstrating how IT/OT convergence is already being deployed in real-world industrial environments. The companies highlighted how integrated digital infrastructures can improve energy efficiency, reduce downtime, optimize maintenance planning, and support long-term industrial sustainability goals.

Across Hannover Messe 2026, exhibitors repeatedly emphasized that the future smart factory will rely on seamless collaboration between physical operations and digital intelligence. From AI-driven predictive analytics to Industrial IoT platforms and secure edge-to-cloud connectivity, the event showcased how IT and OT integration is rapidly becoming the foundation for next-generation manufacturing transformation.
