2026 ASEAN Coating Innovation and Technology Development Conference in Jakarta will convene industry leaders, researchers, and business decision-makers from August 18-19 to explore the latest advances in raw materials, surface treatment, functional coatings, and green chemistry.

The Southeast Asia region continues to spearhead development in the coatings industry and at the center of this vibrant hub is Indonesia, whose industry has become a leading force serving both domestic and regional markets. Indonesia has more than 370 paints manufacturers and a host of other related industry players serving the country’s automotive, infrastructure, building & construction, and consumer goods industries.

The period 2026-2032 is expected to see 6.5% compounded annual growth, according to the projections by Markets & Data, which also estimates Indonesia’s coatings market size to expand from US$4.23 billion in 2024 to US$7.01 billion in 2032. The projected growth is attributed to the robust construction industry pushed by initiatives from the government toward the development of housing and infrastructure. High-performance paints and coatings for both residential and commercial applications are growing as urbanization continues to keep rising, according to the study. In addition, rising focus on sustainability brings attention to green and low VOC paints and coatings driven by environment-conscious consumers concerned with their surroundings, as well as compliance with more stringent regulations. Technological advancements such as waterborne coatings and intelligent technologies play a vital role in enhancing product performance and sustainability.

Organized by Ringier Trade Media Ltd, the 2026 ASEAN Coating Innovation and Technology Development Conference in Jakarta will convene industry leaders, researchers, and business decision-makers from August 18-19 to explore the latest advances in raw materials, surface treatment, functional coatings, and green chemistry. This exclusive platform will showcase cutting-edge trends, regulatory insights, and technical solutions transforming Southeast Asia’s fast-growing coatings market.

With proven success since it was launched in 2024, the conference has become a meeting place where industry professionals learn, discuss and connect. In 2025 alone, the conference attracted more than 150 qualified delegates onsite representing major players in the coatings industry - paints and coatings manufacturers, raw material suppliers, distributors, equipment providers, and associations.  This year, the conference will have a broader and more targeted agenda, focusing on architectural and decorative coatings, driven especially by Indonesia’s booming residential construction sector, alongside industrial coatings, sustainable materials, and digital transformation. Moreover, the unlimited networking that the conference provides to participants will enable them to establish business contacts and get the most from their attendance. With a proven track record, this conference guarantees deeper insights, stronger business connections, and expanded opportunities for growth across Southeast Asia.

The conference has the active participation of Business Partners: Nanjing Tianshi New Material Technologies Co., Ltd., a company focused on the research, development, and production of specialty chemical additives and advanced materials for polymer, rubber, and industrial manufacturing applications; and Anhui Black Cat Material Science Co., Ltd., a manufacturer specializing in carbon black, silica, and other advanced materials used in tires, rubber products, plastics, coatings, and industrial applications.

The event also has the support of major industry associations in Indonesia related to the coating industry, among them, the: Association of Paints Manufacturers of Indonesia (APCI), a leading organization that represents paint manufacturing companies in Indonesia; Indonesian Coating Association (ASCOATINDO), a professional association composed of members engaged in coating user industries and coating supplier industries, coating applicators, coating consultant services, coating practitioners, etc.; Asosiasi Galvanis Indonesia (AGI, Association of Galvanizers Indonesia), an association that aims to unite and develop the Indonesian galvanizing industry, enhance awareness about corrosion protection through hot-dip galvanizing, and foster collaboration among domestic and international stakeholders; Indonesia ISO Expert Association (IIEA) composed of ISO Experts in Indonesia with the aim of delivering a range of management systems consultation, training, certification & implementation schemes; and Indonesian Society for Quality (ISQ), a community of individuals in Indonesia who are passionate about quality and its impact on the nation.
